Meet your mentor
Matt Tinkler · Founder, Aspect Music Academy · Ableton Certified Trainer
I started learning music production at 14 with no roadmap, no friends around me, and no one to show me the ropes. All I had was 2011 YouTube, forums, and a physical copy of the Ableton Live 8 manual. I had to figure everything out alone, and it took me years longer than it should have.
It wasn’t until I went to university that I had real, personalised, hands-on advice on my music by people who actually knew what they were talking about. That was the first time that I’d ever had anyone be able to look directly at what I was doing and help me bypass all the guessing and trial and error and help move me towards getting my music to sound professional.
That experience not only helped me as a music-maker, it sparked a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge that I never knew I had. I set my sights on becoming a university lecturer, and over the next few years I honed my skills by teaching 1:1 lessons, running workshops, and making YouTube videos. By the time I was 22, I’d got my dream job as a university lecturer teaching composition and music production.
Since then I’ve gone on to become one of fewer than 400 Ableton Certified Trainers, and have spent over eight years teaching electronic music — five of them lecturing at university — reaching hundreds of students in person and thousands more through my YouTube channel. In all that time I never stopped making my own music, and after having written well over 200 tracks, I now write and release music as Chronitect. The Accelerator is my way of giving every student the same transformative experience that completely changed everything for me.

Real students. Real results.
Six months is a big commitment, so before you take my word for anything, hear it from the people who’ve done it. These are producers who came in stuck, put in the work, and walked away with music they’re proud of.
10 years of dreaming, 6 months to get there.
Wayne came to me 6 months into his production journey, going backwards the more he tried — copying techniques without understanding why they worked, and feeling like he “lacked music in his music”.
We worked to his level, on his tracks, with him making the creative calls. He left with a process he trusts and a body of finished work.
- 6 finished, set-ready tracks
- A repeatable process
- Eyes on his first festival booking
Where I was six months ago was unable to finish tracks consistently to a quality I was happy with. Now I’ve got seven tracks released that I’m proud of and a pipeline to release over the next few months. I can crack out the bones of a track in about three hours — it used to take me three months.Andy J · Suntan Bear
From stuck in the loop to 7 released tracks.
Andy had been making music on and off for years but couldn’t finish anything consistently — lots of eight-bar loops, no confidence to release. He’d tried a dozen courses; most were too generic to stick.
Over six months we worked to his goals: reference tracks, arrangement, low-end mixing, sound selection. He describes it as levelling up in every area — and finishing tracks became “almost like muscle memory”.
- 11 tracks finished, 7 released on streaming
- A pipeline of tracks ready to push out
- His first DJ set of his own music booked
His first EP and 15 finished tracks — around a full-time job.
Mark was making music around a full-time job and it was taking him three to four months per track — often loading up a half-finished project and turning it off hours later with nothing to show. He wanted to release an EP of brand-new music and finally understand mixing and mastering himself.
We worked on structure, drum programming, EQ, and demystified mastering. He now fleshes out the bones of a track in a few hours and finishes what he starts.
- Full EP released — done with a month to spare
- ~15 finished tracks over six months
- Mixing & mastering his own music
If I saw myself saying this six months ago I’d have been so happy: I will never get stuck in a loop again after this. Ever. It’s impossible at this point — I just see the value in everything now. There’s no going back.Matt C · Deep Depth
6 finished tracks in 6 months.
Matt came in enjoying the making but never finishing — stuck in a cycle of loops, with nothing tangible to show anyone. He described it as only ever making the icing, never the cake.
Six months later he’d broken the loop for good. He calls the difference between his first and last track “night and day”, and now has music he’s proud to put in front of anyone.
- 6 finished tracks in 6 months
- Broke the “stuck-in-a-loop” cycle
- Music he’s proud to share
From years of loops to his first finished track.
Matt had taught himself Ableton by fooling around and watching tutorials, but kept hitting the same wall — the videos never explained “the knowledge behind the knowledge”, so he could never get past the drop into a finished track.
We focused on structure, automation, and how to actually use Ableton musically. He set out not to learn one genre but to be able to make music, full stop — and that’s exactly where he landed.
- Finished tracks, start to finish
- The confidence to experiment across genres
- Able to learn on his own now
It was a huge eye-opener into production. Everything I wanted to do from the start of this course, you’ve helped me achieve. I’m actually sitting here exactly where I wanted to be.Matt A · Accelerator graduate
